Timeline
License Monitor II, LLC. was founded in 1999 by Michael Garvey - a former police sergeant who had witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of improperly licensed motor vehicle operators. After determining an employers’ need for pertinent employee driver license information, Garvey set out to build today's leading pro-active license monitoring company.
In 2002, License Monitor was awarded the Grand Prize at the prestigious McCloskey Notre Dame National Business Plan Competition and named High Tech Company of the Year by the New York State Small Business Development Center in May 2003. In 2006, License Monitor received the New York State Small Business Hall of Fame Award for Extraordinary Entrepreneurial Spirit.
The company's proprietary software application was designed to deliver Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) information in a more useful and practical manner than previously available. The company also sought to provide employers with a robust driver data risk management tool aimed at reducing the number of accidents and injuries that companies experience each year.
After successfully deploying its online application to the private/commercial sector, License Monitor was awarded a state-wide contract with the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) in 2004. This was instrumental in the company's foray into the public/government sector and its newest offering - DriverManager®.
License Monitor currently provides proactive license monitoring and risk management services to a broad spectrum of industries in both the private/commercial sectors and public/government sectors, including transportation, communications, electric and gas services, construction and manufacturing, transportation and warehousing, and school districts. Critical to its success is License Monitor's dynamic executive leadership team, along with a myriad of risk management leaders and strategic partners.
